David McWane of Big D and the Kids Table diagnosed with Throat Cancer

Poet, author, songwriter and lead vocalist of the ska punk band Big D and the Kids Table, David McWane, has been diagnosed with throat cancer. The news was first reported by Hidden Talent Booking (http://www.facebook.com/hiddentalentbooking/posts/10150379341146546) and AP Magazine (http://bit.ly/t3kwIv).
The band’s European tour has been cancelled as David has traveled back to the U.S. to have an operation to remove the cancer.

McWane has fronted Big D and the Kids Table since 1995 and the band recently released their 11th full-length album For The Damned, The Dumb & The Delirious on SideOneDummy records in 2011. David is also the author of four books including this year’s A Gypsy Mile (http://www.davidmcwane.com.
