Loud Love’s Benefit for WRVU
by Dave Sharp on Mar 29th, 2011
The effort to save WRVU-FM, Vanderbilt’s student-involved and community-run radio station, continues its benefit concert series with Loud Love’s punk and hardcore showcase at the Muse.
Following their successful Big Poppa’s Underground showcase at Exit/In in January, DJ D. Rue and Jame Misplaces host Gnarwhal, Diarrhea Planet and Evan P. Donohue among others to garner funds and build awareness in support of saving WRVU.
WRVU staff will be on hand to answer questions and collect a minimum $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7pm.
This weeks podcast of DJ D.Rue’s podcast, for which this event is the namesake, as well as downloads from all the featured artists and the press release are included below. All of the bands featured at the show are played on his podcast.
As was reported in Sinizine.net’s Records and Raman feature on WRVU DJs Anna Lundy and Emily Hines, there are a few ways you can help Save WRVU:

- Join the WRVU Facebook page, invite friends and help it go viral.
- Go to Grimey’s and purchase a Save WRVU t-shirt for $10
- Read this interview, get to know Anna and Emily and the reasons they are such staunch supports of WRVU then start talking to people about the impact the station has on individuals and the community.
- Go to SaveWRVU.org to learn more and find other ways to help.
